Job summary

Northfield Public Schools seeks a part-time Recreation & Aquatics Assistant for the Northfield Community Education Center. The position runs 9/1/2026 through 5/31/2027 and involves following the program supervisor’s plan, arriving early, engaging participants, and maintaining accurate timesheets.

Ideal candidates are at least 16, committed to helping youth, and can show initiative and knowledge of a sport or program. EOE; background check required.

Qualifications

• Applicant must be 16 to apply.

• Evidence of specific sport or program knowledge and experience.
• Evidence of initiative taking and self-directing.

Responsibilities

• Instructors will follow the lead of the program supervisor, and will assist with programming.
• Instructors will arrive early, know and fully execute the plan for each day, engage 100% throughout the program, teach general disciplines of each activity, enhance skill development, build relationships with youth, and communicate as needed with parents/guardians.
• Instructors will show enthusiasm and create fun, positive experiences through words, actions, and non-verbal's.
• Instructors will keep track of time worked and record on timesheet.
• Instructors will openly communicate with the recreation coordinator, in a timely manner, regarding vacation requests, program issues, etc.
