Job summary

Franklin County Government seeks a Part-Time Library Assistant to support Afternoon Adventures and after-school programs for local youth. You will provide friendly customer service at the circulation desk, help patrons locate materials, and assist with program materials and displays.

You’ll handle check-ins/outs, cards, fees, shelving, and basic catalog and equipment use, working under supervision with a focus on accuracy and public service.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of library procedures, materials and practices.
• Ability to use library computers and audio-visual equipment.
• Familiar with circulation and reader's advisory basics.
• Ability to work with the public and maintain professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Check books and media in and out at the circulation desk.
• Assist patrons with locating materials and reader's advisory.
• Register patrons for borrower cards and collect fees.
• Shelve materials and prepare program materials and displays.
• Assist with program deliveries under supervision.
