Job summary

The Lead Youth Development Specialist at Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley works with Branch leadership and Youth Development Professionals to ensure high-quality programming and youth development practices are implemented across the Branch.

This part-time role runs approximately 15-25 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with paid training and orientation requirements. The position supports program planning, youth engagement, and supervision of activities in five core program areas.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• Must obtain/maintain CPR, First Aid, and Food Handler’s Certification (within first 90 days of employment)
• Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license
• Six months employment with BGCAZ ( preferred)

Responsibilities

• Employs BGCAZ “Rules of Engagement” in day to day interactions with staff.
• Facilitates programs/sessions modeling group management, program instruction, and youth engagement practices to ensure healthy and safe program environments.
• Assist Youth Development Specialists with program planning (including calendars and lesson plans), daily preparation, participant data collection and high-quality practices to boost engagement.
• Informally observes Youth Development Professionals and provide feedback and coaching, including coordination of shadow/observation opportunities for new Youth Development Professionals.
• Plan, promote and conduct specialized events and programs, including Leagues.
• Promotes an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces diversity.
• Supports and mirrors the culture, mission, values, and core beliefs of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley.
• Promotes an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces diversity.
• May include assisting with food program.
• Other duties as assigned.
