Job summary

BGCAZ in Tempe is seeking a Lead Youth Development Specialist to work with Branch leadership and Youth Development Professionals to ensure high-quality programming across five core areas. The role involves planning, coordinating, and supervising youth activities for members and teens, with a focus on safe, engaging experiences.

The position is part-time (10–25 hours/week), requires training, and offers opportunities to support youth development practices and community outreach within the Branch

Qualifications

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • Must obtain/maintain CPR, First Aid, and Food Handler’s Certification within first 90 days.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license.
  • Six months employment with BGCAZ preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Employs BGCAZ Rules of Engagement in day-to-day interactions with staff.
  • Facilitates programs/sessions modeling group management and youth engagement practices.
  • Assist Youth Development Specialists with program planning, daily preparation, and participant data collection.
  • Informally observes Youth Development Professionals and provide feedback and coaching.
  • Plan, promote and conduct specialized events and programs, including Leagues.
