Job summary

BGCAZ in Tempe is seeking a Lead Youth Development Specialist to work with Branch leadership and Youth Development Professionals to ensure high-quality programming across five core areas. The role involves planning, coordinating, and supervising youth activities for members and teens, with a focus on safe, engaging experiences.

The position is part-time (10–25 hours/week), requires training, and offers opportunities to support youth development practices and community outreach within the Branch

Qualifications

Must possess a high school diploma or equivalency certificate.
Must obtain/maintain CPR, First Aid, and Food Handler’s Certification within first 90 days.
Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license.
Six months employment with BGCAZ preferred.

Responsibilities

Employs BGCAZ Rules of Engagement in day-to-day interactions with staff.
Facilitates programs/sessions modeling group management and youth engagement practices.
Assist Youth Development Specialists with program planning, daily preparation, and participant data collection.
Informally observes Youth Development Professionals and provide feedback and coaching.
Plan, promote and conduct specialized events and programs, including Leagues.
