Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs Of The Valley in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a Youth Development Specialist - Arts Instructor to ensure youth safety while delivering quality arts programming under the Program Director.

The position is part-time (approximately 10-25 hours weekly, Monday-Friday) with paid training and orientation, and may involve transporting members if 21 or older. Strong communication and teamwork required for success.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Passion for working with youth.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to Club’s changing needs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and cooperative working skills.
• Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite and be comfortable adapting to new technology.
• If 21 or older, maintains a valid driver’s license and meets eligibility requirements to drive Club vehicles.
• Safety oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Develops, organizes, and facilitates programs and activities utilizing a formal curriculum.
• Directly runs programming and high-yield activities in assigned area.
• Facilitate enrichment programming that cultivates a passion for continuous learning and academic excellence including science, technology, engineering, arts, math and other academic domains.
• Plan and coordinate events to showcase youth’s academic achievements and projects to foster a sense of accomplishment.
• Administers outcome measurement tools.
• Delivers programs with an enthusiastic, high-energy, positive attitude.
