Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley in Tempe, AZ is seeking a part-time Youth Development Specialist- Character & Leadership to oversee safety and supervise Club members. Under the Program Director, you will deliver quality programs and high-yield art activities, using the organization’s mission to set members up for success.

You will develop and facilitate programming, ensure safety and cleanliness, and guide volunteers.

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old.
High school graduate or GED or equivalent.
Passion for working with youth.
Ability to multitask and adapt to changing needs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and cooperative working skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
If 21 or older, maintains a valid driver’s license and meets eligibility requirements to drive Club vehicles.
Safety oriented mindset.
Direct youth programming experience recommended.
CPR and First Aid certifications recommended.

Responsibilities

Develops, organizes, and facilitates programs and activities utilizing a formal curriculum.
Directly runs programming and high-yield activities in assigned area.
Facilitate programs that inspire youth to develop positive character traits, embrace leadership opportunities, and foster inclusive and respectful attitudes.
Plan and coordinate leadership projects, community service initiative and other events that celebrate diversity.
Administers outcome measurement tools.
Delivers programs with an enthusiastic, high-energy, positive attitude
