Job summary

Mercy Home for Boys & Girls is seeking a part-time Support Staff/On-call Youth Care Worker in Chicago, IL. The role focuses on advocacy, mentorship, and coaching for youths living in our residential program.

The position requires strong listening skills, empathy, and the ability to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends. Responsibilities include supervision, program compliance, and communication with families and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills essential.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with flexibility and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Maintain DCFS, HR, and Training compliance at all times.
• Check in and communicate with core staff during each shift.
• Provide supportive supervision and role modeling for youth in the milieu.
• Ensure Youths' educational, employment and treatment plans are followed.
• Communicate timely and accurately within the program (incidents, family contacts, supervision, logs).
• Engage with youth in daily routines and activities; participate in supervision meetings.
