Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley is seeking a part‑time Youth Development Specialist‑Arts in Phoenix to ensure the safety and supervision of Club members while delivering quality art programs. Under the Program Director, you will develop and facilitate curricula, guide volunteers, and support youth through diverse artistic activities.

Responsibilities include managing program area safety, coordinating art exhibitions, and utilizing outcome measurements to showcase youth achievement.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Passion for working with youth.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to Club’s changing needs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and cooperative working skills.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite and be comfortable adapting to new technology.
• If 21 or older, holds a valid driver’s license and meets eligibility to drive Club vehicles.
• Safety oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Develops, organizes, and facilitates programs and activities utilizing a formal curriculum.
• Directly runs programming and high‑yield activities in assigned area.
• Foster creativity and self‑expression among youth by encouraging exploration of diverse artistic mediums.
• Plan and coordinate art exhibitions and displays to celebrate youth’s achievement and showcase work.
• Administers outcome measurement tools.
• Delivers programs with an enthusiastic, high‑energy, positive attitude.
• Ensures program areas remain safe, clean, and organized.
• Adheres to Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley’s policies and procedures.
• Demonstrates sound judgement and decision‑making.
• Maintains Club equipment and property to ensure they stay in good working order.
• Uses positive guidance and discipline techniques to redirect member behavior issues.
• Utilizes active supervision techniques when working with Club members.
• Supports and mirrors the culture, mission, values, and core beliefs of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley.
• Promotes an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces diversity.
• May include assisting with food program.
• Other duties as assigned.
