Job summary

Ann Arbor YMCA is seeking a part-time Custodian to maintain the cleanliness of facilities, equipment, and property in a safe manner to support the Association’s membership retention efforts.

Under the supervision of the Facilities Coordinator, the custodian will operate carpet cleaning, floor cleaning, Kaivac, and general cleaning tasks, stock supplies, and report any repairs. The role promotes a child-friendly environment and teamwork within the YMCA community.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and write, speak and understand English.
• Must have a positive attitude with good customer relations.
• Must be a team player, able to prioritize work and handle daily stress.

Responsibilities

• Operate carpet and floor cleaning equipment.
• Sweep and mop floors and stairs; dispose of trash and towels.
• Clean furniture, fixtures, and glass surfaces.
• Stock restroom supplies; report repair needs and maintain supplies inventory.
• Move and arrange furniture; assist with events and external contractors.
