Job summary

Federal Express Corporation seeks a part-time Yard Switcher/Package Handler to move trailers from yard to doors and assist with packaging duties. You will read labels, document moves, and follow safety rules across a fast-paced shift.

Responsibilities include unloading/loading packages, using scanners, and coordinating with central control. This role requires a valid driver’s license, DOT compliance, and a willingness to work early mornings Tuesday–Saturday.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a DOT file.
• Ability to understand and follow safety instructions.
• Ability to discern numbers to sort packages correctly.
• Basic use of packaging tools and equipment.
• Strong communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers between yard and doors and switchers as needed.
• Coordinate trailer movements with management or control center.
• Document trailer moves in the Yard Management System or with switcher cards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Assist with package handling: loading/unloading and sorting.
• Sort packages by scanning labels and numbers for conveyors.
