Job summary

CareMed Health Solutions is seeking a Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to provide wound services to residents in long-term care facilities in Arkansas. You will assess wounds, prescribe appropriate treatments, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.

Must hold an Arkansas NP license, board certification, and experience in wound care. A DEA license is optional. Benefits include malpractice insurance, paid time off, mileage reimbursement, a $5,000 sign-on bonus, and 401(k) matching.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted NP license in Arkansas.
• Board Certification.
• DEA licensure (Optional).
• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
• Clinical background of wound care; including chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds.
• Comfort diagnosing/treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds.
• Ability to stage pressure injuries per NPIAP.
• Familiar with wound care products: collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc.
• Experience with wound vacs and other DME devices.
• Wound certification preferred or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide wound care services for long-term care patients in skilled nursing facilities.
• Prescribe appropriate medications in accordance with AR law.
• Order, review, and follow-up with treatments and diagnostic testing.
• Communicate with nursing home staff regularly to discuss changes in condition and care plan.

While an interdisciplinary care team provides medical care to patients in long-term care facilities, you will have the opportunity to impact in a positive way the life and wellbeing of the elderly population.

We are currently seeking Wound Care Nurse Practitioners to provide wound services to patients living in long-term care facilities.

WOUND NP ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide wound care services for long-term care patients residing in skilled nursing facilities.
• Prescribe appropriate medications, including controlled substances in accordance with AR Law.
• Order, review, and/or follow-up with treatments and diagnostic testing.
• Communicate with the nursing home staff on a regular and as needed to discuss changes in condition.
• and/or the care plan.
• Collaborate with the primary care physician.

WOUND NP QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of Arkansas.
• Board Certification.
• DEA licensure (Optional)
• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
• Clinical background of wound care; including but not limited to chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds
• Must be comfortable with diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers.
• Must be comfortable staging pressure injuries according to the NPIAP
• Must be familiar with wound care best practice and advanced wound care products; collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc.
• Must have experience with wound vacs and other DME, such as pressure relieving/ reducing devices
• Strong preference to having wound certification or be open to getting certified
• Experience working in a long-term care setting.
• Ability to work with an EMR.
• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care.
