Job summary

CareMed Health Solutions in Arkansas seeks a Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to provide wound services to residents in skilled nursing facilities. You will diagnose and treat chronic wounds, coordinate with the interdisciplinary team, and collaborate with primary care physicians to optimize care.

Requirements include an unrestricted Arkansas NP license, board certification, and wound care experience in geriatric settings. DEA licensure is optional.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted NP license in Arkansas.
• Board Certification.
• DEA licensure (Optional).
• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
• Clinical background of wound care; chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds.
• Diagnose and treat diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers.
• Staging pressure injuries per the NPIAP.
• Wound care products familiarity; collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc.
• Experience with wound vacs and DME.
• Wound certification preferred; open to getting certified.
• Experience in long-term care.
• Ability to work with an EMR.
• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team.

Responsibilities

• Order, review, and follow up with treatments and diagnostic testing.
• Communicate with nursing home staff regularly about changes in condition and care plan.

We are currently seeking Wound Care Nurse Practitioners to provide wound services to patients living in long-term care facilities.

WOUND NP ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide wound care services for long-term care patients residing in skilled nursing facilities.

• Prescribe appropriate medications, including controlled substances in accordance with AR Law.

• Order, review, and/or follow-up with treatments and diagnostic testing.

• Communicate with the nursing home staff on a regular and as needed to discuss changes in condition.

• and/or the care plan.

• Collaborate with the primary care physician.
  

WOUND NP QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of Arkansas.

• Board Certification.

• DEA licensure (Optional)

• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.

• Clinical background of wound care; including but not limited to chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds

• Must be comfortable with diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers.

• Must be comfortable staging pressure injuries according to the NPIAP

• Must be familiar with wound care best practice and advanced wound care products; collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc.

• Must have experience with wound vacs and other DME, such as pressure relieving/ reducing devices

• Strong preference to having wound certification or be open to getting certified

• Experience working in a long-term care setting.

• Ability to work with an EMR.

• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care.
