Job summary

CareMed Health Solutions in Arkansas is seeking a Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to provide specialized wound services to residents living in long-term care facilities. You will join an interdisciplinary care team focused on elevating resident wellbeing.

Key duties include wound assessment and treatment, prescribing medications (including controlled substances per AR law), ordering and reviewing tests, and coordinating with nursing staff and primary care physicians.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of Arkansas.
• Board Certification.
• DEA licensure (Optional)
• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
• Clinical background of wound care; including chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds.
• Comfort with diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers.
• Ability to stage pressure injuries according to NPIAP.
• Familiar with wound care best practice and advanced wound care products (collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc.).
• Experience with wound vacs and other DME (pressure-relieving/reducing devices).
• Strong preference for wound certification or willingness to obtain.
• Experience in a long-term care setting.
• Ability to work with an EMR.
• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care.

Responsibilities

• Order, review, and/or follow-up with treatments and diagnostic testing.
• Communicate with the nursing home staff on a regular and as needed to discuss changes in condition.

Wound Np Qualifications And Education Requirements

• Must be comfortable staging pressure injuries according to the NPIAP
• Must be familiar with wound care best practice and advanced wound care products; collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc.
• Must have experience with wound vacs and other DME, such as pressure relieving/ reducing devices
• Strong preference to having wound certification or be open to getting certified
• Experience working in a long-term care setting.
• Ability to work with an EMR.
• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care.
