Job summary

CareMed Health Solutions is seeking a Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to deliver wound care services to residents in long‑term care facilities in Arkansas. You will prescribe medications, order treatments, and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team and primary care physician.

The role requires an Arkansas NP license, board certification, and experience in wound care. Strong collaboration with staff and superior patient outcomes are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted NP license in Arkansas
• Board Certification in NP field
• D wound care experience and knowledge
• Wound care certification preferred or willing to obtain
• DEA licensure (optional)

Responsibilities

• Provide wound care services for long‑term care patients in skilled nursing facilities.
• Prescribe medications, including controlled substances per Arkansas law.
• Order, review, and follow up on treatments and diagnostic tests.
• Communicate with nursing home staff regularly about patient condition changes.
• Collaborate with the primary care physician on care plans.

We are currently seeking Wound Care Nurse Practitioners to provide wound services to patients living in long-term care facilities.

WOUND NP ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide wound care services for long-term care patients residing in skilled nursing facilities.
• Prescribe appropriate medications, including controlled substances in accordance with AR Law.
• Order, review, and/or follow-up with treatments and diagnostic testing.
• Communicate with the nursing home staff on a regular and as needed to discuss changes in condition.
• and/or the care plan.
• Collaborate with the primary care physician.

Wound Np Qualifications And Education Requirements

• Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of Arkansas.
• Board Certification.
• DEA licensure (Optional)
• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
• Clinical background of wound care; including but not limited to chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds
• Must be comfortable with diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers.
• Must be comfortable staging pressure injuries according to the NPIAP
• Must be familiar with wound care best practice and advanced wound care products; collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc.
• Must have experience with wound vacs and other DME, such as pressure relieving/ reducing devices
• Strong preference to having wound certification or be open to getting certified
• Experience working in a long-term care setting.
• Ability to work with an EMR.
• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care.
