Position Summary

Gettysburg College, in historic Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, is seeking a highly organized, dynamic, and innovative individual with a background in preventive health education and experience working with young adults to serve as the Wellness Coordinator for Counseling and Wellness Services. The position is a 10‑month, part‑time role (20‑30 hours per week) that supports the College Life Division by developing, implementing, and leading campus‑wide student wellness outreach and health promotion programs. The goal is to foster an environment that promotes holistic student well‑being, health education, and personal development.

The Wellness Coordinator will be expected to collaborate closely with the Executive Director of Counseling & Wellness and other stakeholders, build strong working relationships with staff, student workers, and campus partners, and act as a self‑starter and collaborative team member in all activities.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director of Counseling & Wellness and stakeholders to develop a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to wellness for students emphasizing personal and community well‑being, including substance use, suicide prevention, and financial, emotional and physical wellness.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate monthly evidence‑informed wellness outreach activities, programs and initiatives for the student body utilizing Gettysburg College’s wellness dimensions.
  • Collaborate with community partners to coordinate wellness activities, programs and initiatives for students.
  • Develop strategic, creative marketing campaigns and disseminate wellness education and awareness materials on campus (social media, web‑based, email, print).
  • Co‑lead College Life Wellness Advisory Committee.
  • Co‑lead peer education program, including training, supervision, and ongoing support for campus wellness initiatives and outreach.
  • Maintain a coordinated programming calendar for campus‑wide wellness activities, programs and initiatives.
  • Develop goals, and measurable objectives for wellness promotion and risk prevention/reduction activities, programs and initiatives in coordination with the Executive Director and other partners.
  • Assist in development, implementation, and analysis of student wellness surveys and program evaluation tools.
  • Assist with initiating, processing, and maintaining records and invoices.
  • Incorporate principles of inclusion and belonging into all aspects of wellness activities, programs and initiatives to meet the needs of all students.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; preferred fields include public health, health education, or social work. Degrees in other fields considered with evidence of relevant coursework or professional continuing education.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of health topics and current trends relevant to college students, such as substance use, mental health, sleep and technology usage.
  • Knowledge of health issues and impact on specific student populations (athletes, Greek life affiliates, underrepresented identities).
  • Ability to produce clear, concise, and compelling written content.
  • Demonstrated experience with marketing and social media platforms.
  • Evidence of ability to provide leadership and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to cultivate inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community collaborators.
  • Ability to work independently and also collaborate and communicate effectively with groups.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Availability for periodic evening and weekend hours.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
Pay

This is an hourly position with a pay rate of $23.00 per hour.
