Job summary

Gettysburg College is seeking several lifeguards to work approximately 20-25 hours per week during the summer months in the Athletics Department. Typical hours run 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with some evenings and weekend shifts from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM.

Qualified candidates must be Lifeguard and First Aid certified (American Red Cross preferred) as well as CPR/AED certified (American Red Cross preferred).

Qualifications

• Previous lifeguard experience required.
• Must hold Lifeguard, First Aid and CPR/AED certifications (ARC preferred).
• Summer schedule approx 20-25 hrs/week, typically 10:00 AM–1:00 PM, Monday–Friday; some evenings and weekends possible.

Responsibilities

• Provide lifeguard coverage in the Athletics Department pool during summer.
• Enforce safety rules and respond to emergencies.
• Assist with general pool operations and opening/closing procedures.
