Job summary

Kishwaukee College seeks a part-time Wellness Center Assistant to support the Director of Student Involvement, oversee equipment and usage by athletics, and assist PE course coordination. Hours are 9:00 am–3:00 pm, Monday–Thursday during Fall and Spring 16-week terms.

May include evenings and weekends for events. Responsibilities include supervising students and staff, maintaining equipment, and coordinating with instructors on visits and records.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a college or high school coach with wellness center techniques, or a current personal training certification with related fitness instruction experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to Wellness Center patrons on appropriate fitness activities in a safe and healthy manner.
• Coordinate with Director Student Involvement on equipment conditions regularly.
• Provide annual update on possible wellness equipment needs.
• Communicate with PE140 / PE141 Instructor on recorded visits each semester.
• Ensure proper care, cleaning and maintenance of equipment and facilities daily.
• Maintain record files for workout waivers by individuals each semester.
• Keep up-to-date list of approved/authorized students, staff and faculty each semester.
• Adhere to Wellness Center budget.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
