Job summary

Walnut Creek Family YMCA in West Des Moines is seeking a part-time Wellness Center Staff to assist members, monitor safety, and provide basic equipment instruction. The role emphasizes customer service and relationship building in a busy wellness center.

Responsibilities include promoting member engagement, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting staff during shifts. Previous fitness experience and CPR/First Aid certification are preferred; training provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• One year previous customer service experience.
• Previous fitness and/or wellness experience.
• CPR-PR/AED/First Aid Certification or equivalent required if hired.
• Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Training completed before starting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor wellness center areas to ensure a safe, hazard-free environment.
• Assist members with questions and issues in a friendly manner.
• Actively promote member engagement by encouraging participation in Y programs.
• Provide basic cardio and weight lifting equipment instruction.
• Complete accident/incident reports and submit to supervisor as needed.
