Job summary

YMCA of Central New York is seeking a part-time Fitness Center Floor Staff to enhance member experiences in our wellness center. You will welcome members, guide exercise through safe instruction, and uphold core YMCA values in a busy community setting.

The role requires a high school diploma, flexibility to work weekends/holidays, and completion of CPR/AED/First Aid plus safety trainings. Prior wellness exposure is preferred and customer service is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a health & wellness environment is preferred.
• Must complete CPR/AED/First Aid and safety trainings within required timelines.
• Must be able to work flexible hours including some weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Welcome, assist and interact with members using the wellness center facility.
• Provide safe and effective exercise instruction, while building relationships.
• Provide exceptional customer service to all members utilizing the wellness center.
• Review policies regarding emergency procedures related to injury or illness of a member.
• Know and enforce all Health & Wellness program policies, procedures and rules.
• Supervise center activities, conduct new member orientations, and follow up with members.
