iHeartMedia in Dallas seeks a weekend traffic reporter and producer to update our website with current traffic information for our markets and report traffic information on the radio.

You will gather data from multiple intake sources, write traffic and weather copy for on-air use, and read updates live. A strong on-air voice and fast-paced newsroom experience are essential.

• Clear, pleasant on-air voice with pronunciation.
• Strong editing and writing abilities with grammar.
• Experience in fast-paced newsroom environments.

Responsabilités

• Read traffic updates and ads on air.
• Gather data from multiple feeds to determine relevance.
• Write and produce traffic and weather copy for on-air use.

• Maintain updated content on station websites.
• Create written, visual and social content for websites.
• Work a flexible schedule, including mornings, weekends or holidays.

What We Need:

We’re seeking a weekend traffic reporter and producer to update our website with current traffic information for our markets and report traffic information on the radio

What You'll Do:

• Providetimely,accurate, and useful information to help commuters plan their drives.
• Deliverup to the minutereports on accidents, delays, and major traffic disruptions.
• Read traffic updates, commercials, and public service announcements on air.
• Gather information from multiple intake sources andmonitorlocal, state, and national traffic feeds todeterminewhat’smost relevant.
• Research, write, and produce traffic and weather copy foron airuse; edit audio using digital editing software.
• Manage incoming information, verify facts, and ensure all details areaccurateand current;maintainupdated content on station websites.
• Create written, visual, audio, and video content for websites, blogs, and social media platforms.
• Worka flexible schedule as needed, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays.

What You'll Need:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
• Strong knowledge of local geography, major roadways, mass transit systems, and traffic patterns.
• Clear, pleasant, andwell controlledon airvoice with excellent pronunciation.
• Skilled at working in afast paced,deadline driven,newsroom styleenvironment.
• Excellent writing and editing abilities witha strongcommand of grammar.
• Exceptional attention to detail with consistentfollow throughuntil issues are resolved.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively in ahigh volumesetting.
• Familiarity with police scanners is a plus.
• Previousbroadcast experience preferred.
