Job summary

BBL Lenox Hotel Group LLC is seeking an experienced Bartender to prepare and serve beverages with precision, maintain a clean bar, and handle cash and payments. The role requires knowledge of ABC regulations, strong customer service, and the ability to upsell drinks to boost revenue.

You will work on-site in Lenox, MA, supporting guest service and promotional events. Certification as required by state/local laws is necessary; physical tasks include standing, lifting, and moving bar supplies.

Qualifications

• Certification as required by state or local laws.
• Extensive knowledge of mixology; cash handling procedure experience; knowledge of ABC regulations for state and local offices.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that bar is clean and properly set up; ensure supplies for upcoming shifts are available.
• Greet guests pleasantly; upsell house drinks to maximize revenues.
• Prepare beverages requested by guests or servers according to SOPs to control costs and ensure consistency.
• Monitor guest alcohol consumption; check IDs when necessary; report incidents to management.
• Receive and serve food orders to guests seated at the bar.
• Process payments and credit card charges; provide change if applicable.
• Maintain bar inventory and replenish supplies; report equipment problems to management.
• Promote marketing events to guests; assist with bar maintenance and cleanliness.

Reports directly to the General Manager. Job requirements include basic reading, writing, and math skills and specialized knowledge of bartending and mixing drinks. Customer service aptitude and interpersonal communication skills are a must. Physical requirements include standing, carrying 30-75 lbs, walking, lifting, reaching overhead, pushing, bending, and able to climb a ladder.Job Duties Include, but not limited to:Ensure that bar is clean and properly set up, i.e. supplies needed for upcoming shifts are available. Report any shortages to manage.Greets guests pleasantly as they approach the bar; promote house drinks and utilizes up -selling skills whenever possible to maximize revenues.Prepares beverages requested by guests or servers according to standard operating procedures establishing proper portions and ingredients to control costs and provide consistent product to the guestHave complete and applied knowledge of alcoholic awareness programHave complete knowledge and understanding of all state and local ABC regulations.Monitors guest behavior and guest alcohol consumption to determine when alcohol service to the guest should cease; notifies management of incidents involving excessive alcohol consumption or impaired condition of customers; checks identification whenever the age of a guest requesting an alcoholic beverage service is questionableInventories return of banquet bar beverages.Insure that bar is completely clean and secure at end of shiftPromote marketing events to all guestsAccept guest payment, process credit card charges and make change (if applicable).Receive and serve food orders to guests seated at the bar.Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to restaurant manager.Assist the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies.
