Job summary

Shining Mountain Waldorf School in Boulder is seeking an afternoon Rainbow Garden and Aftercare Lead Teacher to provide an age-appropriate Waldorf extended day program for children 2.5 to 6 years old, focusing on health, safety and well-being.

The role supervises an assistant, collaborates with the ECE Director on activities, maintains the classroom, follows state regulations, communicates with parents, and ensures proper student ratios and a warm, engaging daily rhythm.

Qualifications

• Colorado ECE regulations compliance and required trainings.
• CPR/First Aid, Standard Precautions and Medications Training.
• ECE background check, fingerprinting and licensing classes.
• Colorado Shines PDIS registration and ECT designation.
• Waldorf Early Childhood experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; reliability and adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Rainbow Garden and Aftercare, ensuring health and safety.
• Follow sign-out procedures with parent pickup.
• Maintain the ECE classroom and implement a gentle daily rhythm.
• Collaborate with the ECE Director on program review and activities.
• Ensure proper student ratios with the Rainbow Garden and Aftercare Assistant.
• Communicate with parents about student behavior and concerns; maintain confidentiality.
• Complete monthly online timesheet; mentor by the ECE Director.
• Assist with morning program substitutions when available.
