Job summary

AoPS Academy is seeking part-time instructors to teach enthusiastic elementary and middle school students in live online classrooms. You will use our language arts curriculum to foster participation and critical thinking, in small classes of about 12 students.

The role requires a strong background in English and language arts, a bachelor’s in humanities (master’s preferred), and experience teaching K-12. All work must be conducted in the United States, with a rate of $30/hour and standard

Qualifications

• Solid academic background in English and language arts.
• Bachelor's degree in humanities; master's preferred.
• Experience teaching/tutoring students at the K-12 level; classroom experience with advanced students preferred.
• Experience using Zoom or similar video conferencing; comfortable managing a virtual classroom.
• All functions of this role must be completed in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Teach enthusiastic elementary and/or middle school students in our online classrooms.
• Use AoPS curriculum to teach participation-oriented classes that focus on instruction and developing skills, not on rote memorization.
• Work in small classes (average size 12) with top performing students who are passionate about learning and are motivated to succeed.
