BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring experienced Veterinary Technicians to support our busy Emergency and Critical Care department on a part-time weekend basis. Compensation ranges from $20.00 to $40.00 per hour, depending on experience and advancement through our competency leveling system.

Qualifications

• Licensed veterinary technician or RVT certification preferred.
• Experience in emergency/critical care settings is essential.
• Proficiency in anesthesia monitoring and patient assessment required.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia and operate anesthesia equipment.
• Triage emergencies and monitor vitals (temp, HR, RR, BP).
• Perform digital radiography with correct patient positioning.
• Proficient in obtaining vital signs and administering meds as directed.
• Place IV catheters and perform phlebotomy as needed.

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring experienced Veterinary Technicians to work in our busy Emergency and Critical Care department.

Schedule: This is a Part Time Weekend position

Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 / hour

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency leveling system.

** Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience**

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.

• H ave a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• Are proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.

• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.
• Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
