Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Nashville is hiring experienced Veterinary Technicians to support our busy Emergency and Critical Care team. The role operates Sundays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 2:00 PM to 2:00 AM, with pay ranging from $21.00 to $41.00 per hour, depending on experience and progression through our leveling system.

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia; triage emergencies; perform digital radiography; interpret vital signs; assist

Qualifications

• Experienced veterinary technicians in emergency and critical care.
• Unrestricted, current authorization to work in the U.S.
• Experience with anesthesia induction and monitoring preferred.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases as they arrive, obtaining vitals (temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure).
• Perform digital radiography with proper technique and patient positioning.
• Monitor vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes.
• Initiate CPR for at-risk patients and manage critical care support.
• Place IV catheters and assist with feeding tubes and central lines.

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring experienced Veterinary Technicians to work in our busy Emergency and Critical Care department.

Schedule: Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday (2:00PM-2:00AM).

Pay: $21.00 - $41.00 / hour.

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through our leveling system.

As An Emergency Veterinary Technician, You Will

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.
• Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• Are proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.
• Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
