Job summary

Animal Kindness Veterinary Hospital in Las Vegas, NV is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The hospital provides care for dogs, cats, and exotics with a dedicated team of technicians and assistants.

Bilingual/Spanish speaking welcomed; part-time schedule with up to 28 hours per week, some Saturday shifts; closed Sundays and major holidays. Salary $16.00–$18.00 per hour, depending on experience and location.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of veterinary clinical experience
• Willingness to cross-train to support CSR responsibilities
• Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
• Experience with proper animal handling and restraint of cats and dogs
• Ability to perform nursing care in a veterinary hospital setting
• Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Collect laboratory samples for urinalysis, cytology, bloodwork, fecal analysis
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments per doctor orders
• Anesthesia monitoring, pre-operative and post-operative surgical care
• Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures
• Diagnostic experience including digital radiology positioning
• Ensure a clean, safe and organized work environment

Responsibilities
