Job summary

Fountain Valley Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our dedicated team. This full-time role offers a four-day work week with no weekends and a competitive hourly salary of $19–$20.

You will support veterinarians across exams, treatments, and procedures, while helping with diagnostics, lab work, and client communication. We emphasize patient care, team collaboration, ongoing education, and a positive work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Previous hands-on Veterinary Assistant experience required.
• Strong communication and client-service skills.
• Ability to handle and restrain patients safely and compassionately.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
• Perform venipuncture and collect diagnostic samples.
• Assist with catheter placement and fluid therapy.
• Obtain radiographs and maintain imaging standards.
• Conduct in-house lab tests and sample prep.
• Support surgical and dental procedures and patient monitoring.
• Maintain accurate medical records and educate clients.
