Job summary

Animal Kindness Veterinary Hospital in Las Vegas, NV is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team caring for dogs, cats, and exotics. The role offers part-time hours with up to 28 per week and some Saturday coverage.

The position requires 3+ years of veterinary clinical experience, ability to support not only assistants but CSR duties, and strong animal handling. Bilingual Spanish is welcomed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of veterinary clinical experience as a veterinary assistant.
• Willingness to cross-train to support CSR responsibilities.
• Knowledge of industry tools and equipment.
• Experience with proper animal handling and restraint of cats and dogs.
• Ability to perform nursing care in a veterinary hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures.
• Monitor anesthesia and provide pre/post-operative care.
• Collect laboratory samples for urinalysis, cytology, bloodwork, fecal analysis.
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments per doctor orders.

Introduction

Animal Kindness Veterinary Hospital is looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team. This busy hospital has a dedicated team of Veterinary Technicians, Veterinary Assistants, and Client Support Specialists to provide exceptional care to the dogs, cats, and exotics in the surrounding community. Salary: $16.00-18.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, certifications, licensure, and location. Bilingual/Spanish Speaking welcomed! Schedule: Part-time, two to four shifts, up to 28 hours per week. Some Saturday coverage is required. Closed Sunday and Major Holidays. Location: 4910 E. Bonanza Rd., Las Vegas, NV 89110

Animal Kindness Veterinary Hospital, located in Las Vegas, NV, is one of the top-rated veterinary clinics in the area with 30 years of clientele and a high number of new clients every week. We offer services for both small animals and exotics, have a team of licensed techs and vet assistants who are knowledgeable and dedicated to the care of the patients, and we are closed on Sundays! Our appointments are between 15-20 pets per DVM day. We fully support bilingual (Spanish speaking community) and truly enjoy providing care in an underserved community. We see urgent care cases and perform emergency surgery too.

Who You Are

• 3+ years of veterinary clinical experience, as a veterinary assistant

• Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
• Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
• Collect laboratory samples for urinalysis, cytology, bloodwork, fecal analysis
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments per doctor orders
• Anesthesia monitoring, pre-operative and post-operative surgical care
• Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures
• Diagnostic experience including digital radiology positioning
• Ensure a clean, safe and organized work environment
