Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System is seeking a Part-Time Patient Service Representative for Lake Hazel and Emerald Urgent Care Clinics. The role supports UC providers, handles check-ins, co-pays, scheduling, calls, and insurance eligibility, using EPIC for records.

The ideal candidate is friendly, detail-oriented, and capable of independent decision-making while delivering high-quality customer service to patients and families.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service experience required.
• Healthcare experience preferred.
• Electronic health record (EHR) experience a plus.
• Medical terminology preferred.
• Experience with process improvement or lean philosophy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients to create a positive experience.
• Check in patients for appointments and complete paperwork.
• Verify and update patient and insurance information.
• Keep appointments on schedule and notify providers of arrivals.
• Communicate delays and expected wait times to patients.
• Explain patient balances for visits and tests.
