Job summary

Allied Universal in Redwood City, CA is seeking a Part Time Security Officer (Unarmed Patrol Deterrence). The role focuses on visible deterrence, customer service, and incident reporting across a tech/telecom site.

You will conduct patrols, monitor access, and engage with staff and visitors to maintain a safe environment. The position offers a day/evening schedule with paid training and opportunities to grow within a nationwide security team.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local regulations.
• Valid driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors at a telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of facilities, parking areas, entry points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials in accordance with site procedures; report unauthorized access attempts, suspicious activity, and/or policy violations.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established communication and escalation protocols.
• Prepare accurate activity logs and incident reports, and communicate observations to site leadership and/or Allied Universal management.
