Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Unarmed Security Officer in Redwood City, CA to provide customer service, deter incidents, and patrol assigned areas for a safe, welcoming environment.

Responsibilities include responding calmly to incidents, monitoring access, and reporting concerns per site procedures. A high school diploma is required, with background checks and drug screening per policy.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a commercial real estate location.
• Respond to incidents, tenant concerns, access‑related issues, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of building interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, common areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe property conditions, reporting unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and security‑related incidents according to site procedures.
• Document patrols, incidents, and daily activities through accurate reports and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
