Job summary

Allied Universal in Sterling, VA is seeking a part-time unarmed Security Guard to monitor and protect the facility, deter incidents, control access, and deliver courteous customer service.

This role offers flexible day/evening shifts, a pay rate of $23.18 per hour, and opportunities to work with advanced security technologies. You will support incident response, document activities, and collaborate with a reliable team to maintain a safe environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check as required by law.
• Drug screening where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, exterior grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access to the location, verify visitor and contractor authorization in accordance with site procedures, and report unusual activity or access-control issues.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and completed security-related activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
