Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Reston, VA. This flexible, part-time role offers a fixed anchor shift with the potential to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform to increase earnings.

You will perform unarmed patrols at a commercial office property, monitor access, and respond to incidents while providing excellent customer service to tenants and visitors.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and property management personnel while carrying out site‑specific procedures and security‑related policies at a commercial office property.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of office building interiors, common areas, parking areas, entrances, exits, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor, tenant, and vendor activity; verify credentials or authorization in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established emergency response procedures and contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as needed.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and activity logs documenting patrols, incidents, maintenance concerns, and security‑related observations.
