Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Security Guard (Unarmed) in Springfield, VA. The role involves patrolling, monitoring access points, and delivering professional customer service to employees and visitors at a technology, media, and telecom site.

You will use a tablet or computer to follow site procedures, document incidents, and support a secure environment while upholding the company values of agility, reliability, and integrity.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, vendors, and/or contractors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, service requests, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, communicating observations to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of office areas, parking facilities, building entrances, perimeter areas, and other assigned locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials in accordance with site procedures and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity.
• Prepare accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation, maintaining a professional presence while supporting a welcoming environment for the telecommunications location.
