Soliant Health seeks a part-time Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) in the Gulf Shores area of Alabama. This school-based contract role offers a few hours weekly, ideal for educators passionate about supporting visually impaired students and collaborating with a supportive educational team.

The role focuses on direct instruction, curriculum adaptation, and contributing to IEP goals, with a flexible, student-centered approach in a responsive schooling environment.

Qualifications

• Current certification as a TVI in Alabama.
• Experience with school-aged children in classroom or resource settings.
• Knowledge of assistive technologies, Braille instruction, and IEPs.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Passion for supporting students with visual impairments.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction and consultation for students who are visually impaired, following individualized education plans.
• Adapt curriculum materials and design learning environments to support accessibility.
• Conduct functional vision assessments and contribute to the development of IEP goals.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to ensure accommodations and strategies are implemented.
• Participate in team meetings and maintain accurate documentation of student progress.
