Job summary

Excel Academy in Massachusetts is seeking a contracted Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide specialized instructional services to students with visual impairments. This is a part-time role (~1 day per week for 4 hours).

The TVI will deliver direct instruction, consult with staff and families, and support access to the curriculum per IEPs. Qualifications include a valid MA TVI license, school-based experience with visually impaired students, and strong communication and

Qualifications

Massachusetts TVI license required.
Experience delivering services to students with visual impairments in schools.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently in a very part-time contracted capacity.

Responsibilities

Provide direct instruction and consultation to students with visual impairments per IEP goals.
Conduct functional vision assessments and contribute to IEP planning and progress monitoring.
Recommend and support adaptive equipment and accessible instructional materials.
Collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff to ensure accommodations are implemented.
Train staff and families on techniques and tools to support independence and access.
Document services and submit progress reports as required.
