Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits for the employed academic semester.
  • Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.
  • Must have accepted a Federal Work Study award from the Office of student Finance.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check.
  • Candidate is responsible for transportation to off campus location.

Responsibilities

  • Complete a 1-hour foundational training in methodologies.
  • Tutor high school and middle school students by helping them prepare for college through study and organizational skills.
  • Engages in ongoing professional development sessions to deepen tutoring strategies.
  • Delivers individualized and group academic assistance tailored to students’ needs.
  • Demonstrates academic excellence, professionalism, and a growth mindset.
  • Utilizes AVID strategies to foster critical thinking, inquiry, and collaborative learning.
  • Prepares materials and guides discussions to ensure productive academic support.
