Pensacola State College is seeking a part-time TRIO Educational Talent Search tutor to assist middle and high school students in math, English, history, or science. The role reports to the TRIO Educational Talent Search Director and operates within a grant-funded framework.

Job Description:

The part-time tutor provides tutoring services to current TRIOEducational Talent Search students who are current middle and highschool students, in the areas of math, English, history, orscience. Reports to the TRIO Educational Talent Search Director.

This is a grant-funded position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide tutoring services to current TRIO Educational Talent Searchstudents in middle and high school, in the areas of math, English,history, or science.
• Responsible for knowing and conforming to all safety practices andregulations that apply to this specific area and position. Unsafeconditions should be reported to the immediate supervisor and tothe Pensacola State College Police Department/Public Safety.Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduation from an institution thatholds accreditation recognized by the U.S. Department of Educationand approved by the College with an Associate of Arts is required.
• Successful results of a criminal background check arerequired.

Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibilityrequirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of §435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations.Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will bedeemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A FloridaDepartment of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check willbe conducted on every successful candidate as a condition ofemployment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverseinformation contained in the background investigation at the timeof submitting the employment application will be disqualified fromemployment.

Salary: $15.53/hour, No more than 12 hours a week, for 36weeks
