Job summary

Beaufort County Community College seeks a part‑time TRIO Tutor to deliver individualized and small‑group tutoring in designated subjects. You will reinforce classroom instruction, help develop study strategies, and promote independent learning for TRIO participants.

Collaborate with TRIO staff, faculty, and campus partners to improve persistence, graduation, and transfer outcomes while complying with TRIO regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in the subject area to be tutored or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated knowledge of college-level coursework and instructional strategies.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to explain complex academic concepts clearly and patiently.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and educational technology platforms.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized and small‑group tutoring in assigned disciplines.
• Reinforce classroom instruction and test preparation with TRIO participants.
• Collaborate with the TRIO Director, Academic Coach, faculty, and campus partners.
• Maintain accurate documentation of tutoring sessions and student progress in TRIO records.
• Contribute to academic success workshops and supplemental learning activities.
