Job summary

Consilio, a national business law firm, seeks a skilled Litigation Attorney on a contract basis to support an active docket focused on insurance coverage disputes and complex personal injury matters.

Qualifications

Consilio's client, a national business law firm with its main office in Charleston, South Carolina, is seeking a skilled and dependable Litigation Attorney to join their team on a contract basis. This is a flexible opportunity to support an active litigation docket, with matters focused primarily on insurance coverage disputes and complex personal injury litigation. The attorney will work closely with experienced litigators and have the opportunity to handle substantive associate-level litigation work.

Position Details

Position: Litigation Attorney

Location: Remote, with the ability to report to the firm's Charleston, SC office as needed for client and team meetings

Hours: 20-30 hours per week

Start Date: October 2026

Duration: 6-12 months

Pay Rate: $75/hour

Responsibilities

The attorney will be responsible for a variety of litigation-related assignments, including:

• Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation filings
• Conducting legal research and analysis
• Preparing and responding to written discovery
• Reviewing and analyzing documents and case materials
• Preparing for and taking or defending depositions
• Assisting with hearings, mediations, and case strategy
• Supporting attorneys with trial preparation and, as appropriate, at trial
• Managing assignments independently while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality work product

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

• Active South Carolina bar license in good standing - required
• Litigation experience, preferably involving insurance coverage disputes and/or complex personal injury matters
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments efficiently
• Strong communication and organizational skills
