TRIGO Global Quality Solutions in Dubuque, IA is seeking a Traveling Quality Inspector for a part-time, as-needed role on the 1st shift (5:30 AM–2:00 PM). Regional travel and overnight stays are required.

You will audit material, inspect with hand tools, read blueprints, and ensure conformance to specifications, while working with a team and maintaining reliability and initiative.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required or equivalent.
• Ability to travel regionally with overnight stays.
• Experience reading basic blueprints and using hand tools.
• Knowledge of quality control methods and standards.

Responsibilities

• Audit incoming material using hand gages and visual inspection to ensure conformance.
• Contain non-conforming parts and coordinate rework or scrapping as directed.
• Rectify non-conforming material using finishing tools and sorting.
• Determine tools and equipment needed for jobs.
• Read blueprints to verify part tolerance.
• Operate near moving machinery safely.

Job description

TRIGO Global Quality Solutions has an immediate opening for a Traveling Quality Inspector based out of Dubuque, IA. This part-time, as-needed position is scheduled for 1st shift, with typical hours between 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Pay ranges from $17.00 to $18.00 per hour. Regional travel is required with overnight travel as-needed.

Overall Purpose

The Traveling Quality Inspector is a vital part of the first line of defense to keep the assembly process running smoothly. Ability to travel on a flexible schedule as needed with variable lengths of time and distances.

Responsibilities

(To include but not limited to the following)

Customer Relationship & Business Development

• Act as an impartial third party between the production source and the customer facility to ensure the product meets set criteria

Operations

• Performs audits on incoming material using hand gaging and visual techniques to determine conformance to specifications and fitness for use
• Contains non-conforming parts and/or sub - assembl es
• Rectifies non-conforming material by rework, sorting and/or scrapping as directed by Team Leader
• Uses methods such as de-rusting, grinding, drilling, tapping, assembly and/or disassembly to rectify non-conforming material
• Determines the tools and equipment needed to do the job
• Grinds, sands, cleans and oils parts and/or sub-assemblies by using hand tools or equipment
• Other duties as assigned

• This position does not include supervisory responsibilities

Technical

• Must be able to use basic hand tools such as gaging, drills, taps, grinders and/or sanders to repair and/or clean parts and/or sub-assemblies
• Must be able to read basic blueprints to determine tolerance of parts and/or sub-assemblies
• In proximity to moving, mechanical parts and machinery
• Demonstrated knowledge of tools, practices, and industry quality standards
• Demonstrated expert level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of MS Word and MS PowerPoint
