TRIGO Global Quality Solutions in Davenport, IA seeks a Traveling Quality Inspector for a part-time, as-needed role. Typical shift is 1st shift (5:30 AM–2:00 PM, Mon–Fri) with regional travel and overnight travel as needed.

The role focuses on material audits and conformance verification to specifications. The inspector will perform incoming material audits using hand gaging and visual checks, contain non-conforming parts, and guide rework or scrapping as directed.

Responsibilities

• Act as an impartial third party between production source and customer facility to ensure product meets criteria.
• Performs audits on incoming material using hand gaging and visual inspection to determine conformance to specifications.
• Contains non-conforming parts and/or sub-assemblies; rectifies non-conforming material by rework, sorting or scrapping as directed by Team Leader.
• Determines tools and equipment needed to do the job; uses hand tools to repair and finish parts.
• Reads basic blueprints to determine tolerance of parts and sub-assemblies.

TRIGO Global Quality Solutions has an immediate opening for a Traveling Quality Inspector based out of Davenport, IA. This part-time, as-needed position is scheduled for 1st shift, with typical hours between 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Pay ranges from $17.00 to $18.00 per hour. Regional travel is required with overnight travel as-needed.

Overall Purpose

The Traveling Quality Inspector is a vital part of the first line of defense to keep the assembly process running smoothly.

Ability to travel on a flexible schedule as needed with variable lengths of time and distances.

Responsibilities

Customer Relationship & Business Development

• Act as an impartial third party between the production source and the customer facility to ensure the product meets set criteria

Operations

• Performs audits on incoming material using hand gaging and visual techniques to determine conformance to specifications and fitness for use
• Contains non-conforming parts and/or sub-assemblies
• Rectifies non-conforming material by rework, sorting and/or scrapping as directed by Team Leader
• Uses methods such as de-rusting, grinding, drilling, tapping, assembly and/or disassembly to rectify non-conforming material
• Determines the tools and equipment needed to do the job
• Grinds, sands, cleans and oils parts and/or sub-assemblies by using hand tools or equipment
• Other duties as assigned

Organization & Management

• This position does not include supervisory responsibilities

Technical

• Must be able to use basic hand tools such as gaging, drills, taps, grinders and/or sanders to repair and/or clean parts and/or sub-assemblies
• Must be able to read basic blueprints to determine tolerance of parts and/or sub-assemblies
• In proximity to moving, mechanical parts and machinery
