Job summary

TRIGO Global Quality Solutions is seeking a Traveling Quality Inspector based in Dubuque, IA. This part-time, as-needed role is on the 1st shift with typical hours 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Pay is $17.00 to $18.00 per hour, with regional travel and occasional overnight stays. The Inspector will perform audits on incoming material, verify conformance to specifications, and help ensure smooth production by addressing non-conforming parts, tooling needs, and basic blueprints

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret tolerances.
• Experience with quality inspections and standard procedures preferred.
• Willingness to travel regionally and overnight.

Responsibilities

• Perform audits on incoming material using hand gaging and visual inspection.
• Identify non-conforming parts and coordinate rework or scrapping as directed.
• Rectify non-conforming material by rework, sorting and/or scrapping as needed.
• Determine tools and equipment required for each inspection.
• Read blueprints to verify tolerances and specifications.
• Support customer relationship and ensure product meets criteria.

Job description

TRIGO Global Quality Solutions has an immediate opening for a Traveling Quality Inspector based out of Dubuque, IA. This part-time, as-needed position is scheduled for 1st shift, with typical hours between 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Pay ranges from $17.00 to $18.00 per hour. Regional travel is required with overnight travel as-needed.

Overall Purpose

The Traveling Quality Inspector is a vital part of the first line of defense to keep the assembly process running smoothly. Ability to travel on a flexible schedule as needed with variable lengths of time and distances.

Responsibilities

(To include but not limited to the following)

Customer Relationship & Business Development

• Act as an impartial third party between the production source and the customer facility to ensure the product meets set criteria

Operations

• Performs audits on incoming material using hand gaging and visual techniques to determine conformance to specifications and fitness for use
• Contains non-conforming parts and/or sub-assemblies
• Rectifies non-conforming material by rework, sorting and/or scrapping as directed by Team Leader
• Uses methods such as de-rusting, grinding, drilling, tapping, assembly and/or disassembly to rectify non-conforming material
• Determines the tools and equipment needed to do the job
• Grinds, sands, cleans and oils parts and/or sub-assemblies by using hand tools or equipment
• Other duties as assigned

Organization & Management

• This position does not include supervisory responsibilities

Technical

• Must be able to use basic hand tools such as gaging, drills, taps, grinders and/or sanders to repair and/or clean parts and/or sub-assemblies
• Must be able to read basic blueprints to determine tolerance of parts and/or sub-assemblies
• In proximity to moving, mechanical parts and machinery
