Job summary

Community Partnership of the Ozarks is seeking a Part-Time New Day Safety Officer to help maintain a safe, welcoming environment at New Day, its day center for individuals experiencing homelessness. This role emphasizes relationship-building, trauma-informed engagement, and de-escalation to prevent crises and protect guests, staff, and partners.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams, document incidents, refer guests to services, and support operations under the supervision of the Director

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Lift up to 50 pounds.
• Training or experience in conflict resolution and de-escalation.
• Ability to stay calm in stressful situations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Experience with vulnerable populations preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).
• CPI or similar de-escalation training preferred.
• Strong observation and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Actively monitor the facility to identify safety concerns.
• Respond to conflicts using trauma-informed and person-centered approaches.
• Coordinate with staff to ensure safety practices.
• Maintain clear and accurate documentation of incidents and safety concerns.
• Provide referrals or connect guests with additional services as appropriate.
• Assist New Day Director of Operations in any other duties, projects, and assignments as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
