Job summary

Park University in Parkville, Missouri, is seeking a Part-Time Campus Safety Officer (20 hours/week) to help provide a safe and secure campus environment. The role may include front desk duties, on-foot or vehicle patrols, and shift work across day, evening, or overnight periods to ensure 24/7 campus safety.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma (Bachelor’s preferred), a valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain required clearances.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma; Bachelor’s preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and the ability to be approved as a Park Driver.
• Prior security experience preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Sensitivity toward cultural diversity on campus.
• Background screening consent and full disclosure of all felony/misdemeanor violations.

Responsibilities

• Campus security and patrol—provides security for persons and buildings and monitors campus CCTV.
• Assists public, students, staff, and faculty by giving directions, information and aid as needed.
• Enforces parking and traffic regulations and maintains logs and data.
• Maintains up-to-date officer logs and completes required reports (Jeanne Clery Act).
• Communicates and coordinates multiple activities under stress; responds rapidly to emergencies.
• Operates MS Office tools and safety programs: Report Exec, Facility Commander, EProcess, Jenzabar.
• Performs other projects as assigned by the Director of Campus Safety.
