Job summary

Allied Universal in Jamaica, NY is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer (Unarmed) to patrol transit facilities and support customers and staff. You will provide visible presence, respond to incidents, and follow site procedures.

The role offers flexible scheduling and driving duties where applicable, emphasizing strong customer service and teamwork with a focus on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to transit passengers, visitors, and/or employees while carrying out site-specific procedures and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of bus facilities, transit property, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity or potential hazards.
• Monitor access points and assist with controlling entry to authorized areas in accordance with site policies.
• Respond to incidents, passenger concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities accurately and complete required reports.
