Job summary

Person County Government is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and safety-focused part-time Transit Specialist to join the Person Area Transportation System (PATS) team. This role connects residents with medical appointments, employment, essential services, shopping, and other pre-arranged destinations.

The starting salary will be determined with consideration given to both the candidate's educational background and relevant work experience.

Qualifications

• High School Graduation or GED equivalent.
• Preference for one year of commercial driving experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Must possess a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record per County policy.

Responsibilities

• Cleans vehicle and performs Pre- and Post-trip inspections, ensuring the vehicle has oil, no flat tires, doors and handicap lift work properly, and safety equipment is on the vehicle.
