Job summary

St. Rose of Lima School in Chula Vista, CA is seeking a part-time TK Teacher’s Aide to assist the Transitional Kindergarten teacher in delivering a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for young children.

You will support daily lessons, supervise students, prepare instructional materials, and help with classroom routines, social‑emotional development, and basic academic skills while maintaining confidentiality and a positive attitude.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with young children preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work cooperatively with teachers, staff, students, and parents.

Responsibilities

• Assist TK teacher with daily lessons and classroom activities.
• Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
• Support students during academic, social, and play-based learning activities.
• Prepare and organize instructional materials, learning centers, and classroom supplies.
• Supervise students during arrival, dismissal, recess, lunch, and field trips.
• Assist with classroom routines, transitions, and age-appropriate self-help skills.
• Promote positive behavior and encourage social-emotional growth.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
• Assist students with hygiene and personal care needs as appropriate.
• Observe student behavior and report concerns to the classroom teacher.
• Perform basic clerical duties, including copying, filing, and preparing classroom materials.
