Job summary

St. Rose of Lima School in Chula Vista, CA is seeking a part-time TK Teacher's Aide to support the Transitional Kindergarten program. The role runs Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM to 1:45 PM (6 hours per day), with a Non-Exempt status and a pay rate of $20.00 per hour.

You will assist with instruction, classroom organization, and the social-emotional development of young children. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, strong communication skills, and a willingness to work

Qualifications

• Demonstrates clear communication with students, families, and staff.
• Ability to support TK students with guidance and patience.
• Experience working with young children is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the TK teacher with daily lessons and classroom activities.
• Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
• Support students during academic, social, and play-based learning activities.
• Prepare and organize instructional materials, learning centers, and classroom supplies.
• Supervise students during arrival, dismissal, recess, lunch, and field trips.
• Assist with classroom routines, transitions, and age-appropriate self-help skills.
• Promote positive behavior and encourage social-emotional growth.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
• Assist students with hygiene and personal care needs as appropriate.
• Observe student behavior and report concerns to the classroom teacher.
• Perform basic clerical duties, including copying, filing, and preparing classroom materials.
• Maintain the confidentiality of student records and information.
• Follow all school policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
