Job summary

Wyckoff Country Club in Holyoke, MA is seeking a bar-focused Bartender to prepare and serve beverages for members, guests, and event patrons in both the Heritage Greens Restaurant and banquet facilities. Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 with valid Massachusetts TIPS Certification.
• Prior bartending experience in a restaurant, bar, or banquet setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of beer, wine, liquor, and cocktail preparation.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 30 lbs, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Professional appearance and adherence to the Club's uniform and appearance standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve drinks in accordance with recipes, club standards, and responsible alcohol service guidelines.
• Set up and break down bar stations for restaurant service, weddings, and special events.
• Monitor guest consumption and refuse service when appropriate to ensure compliance with Massachusetts laws.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of bar areas, glassware, and equipment.
• Greet guests promptly and courteously, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
• Take orders accurately and provide recommendations when requested.
• Handle guest concerns or complaints with professionalism, escalating to management when necessary.
• Ensure timely and efficient service during peak restaurant hours and high-volume banquet events.
• Track product usage and communicate restocking needs to management.
• Assist with liquor, beer, and wine inventory counts as directed.
• Process payments accurately and reconcile tabs in accordance with club procedures.
• Work closely with banquet lead, servers, and catering staff to deliver seamless service at weddings, functions, and private events.
• Adapt to various event setups, including portable bars, specialty cocktail service, and themed events.
• Assist in event breakdown, ensuring equipment is returned and accounted for.
